Literature Connection

Welcome to the Literature Connection page of KidsEcon Posters©. From this page you can access specific lessons based on popular children's books that will help you teach the poster concepts to your students. The heart of each lesson is a set of guided questions about economic concepts found in the book. As you will notice, some books can be used to teach several different concepts.

We firmly believe that using children's literature to help you teach economics not only is good pedagogy, but also enables you to be efficient in using your scarce instructional time.

The majority of lessons in this part of the KidsEcon Posters© web site were created by teachers Betty Sue Johnson and Elizabeth Hinkebein. Teachers Kathy Heyse and Lee Choo Lim were also significant contributors.

Click on the concept below to access a list of children's books
you can use with your class. Enjoy!
