Connection:
Each time the song is sung, have two students pantomime the actions
of the
borrower and the lender.
Substitute the name of one of the students for the
name, Billie Boy (for example, Tommy Boy or Mary Girl). Have the
selected
students decide the item to be borrowed (and insert it in the blank).

Borrowing
Verse:
Will you borrow a (book) , Billie Boy, Billie Boy?
Will you borrow a (book) , Little Billie?
I will borrow a (book) ,
But I'll have to give (pay) it back.
If I don't, no one else will give me credit.
Lending

Will you lend me a (dime) , Billie Boy, Billie Boy?
Will you lend me a (dime) , Little Billie?
I will lend you a (dime) ,
But you'll have to give (pay) it back.
